How To Prepare For A Photoshoot – Ladies
Hi ladies, this one is for you.
Everyone loves looking good in their photographs. I often find that we (women) are always rushing out the door for our daily routine. Well, maybe I should speak for myself. I’m usually the one trying to apply eyeliner at the traffic lights! Know what I mean?!
Once you book your portrait shoot, take some time to slow down. Think of it as a pamper day. Something we all need every once in a while. Preparation is key for a successful session. Follow these steps and you will arrive at the studio fully prepared to deliver amazing shots.
Face:-
-
Tweeze or wax eyebrows. Get it professionally done if you’re not accustomed to doing it yourself. When shaped properly, they bring out eyes, thus brightening up the face!
-
Exfoliate & Moisturize your face. If you’re going to go all out into pamper mode, be sure to do your facial at least a week before your shoot.
-
To avoid dry and chapped lips, apply lip balm prior to the session, as often as you remember
-
Avoid drinking any alcohol, it leaves the face puffy.
-
Sleep is really important. It will also help diminishing the under-eye bags.
Hair:-
-
If you dye your hair, touching up your regrowth three days before your photoshoot is ideal. Get your hair trimmed by your regular stylist if you need it.
-
Give your hair a deep-moisturizing treatment.
-
If you’ve agreed with the photographer for a full makeover, wash your hair the day before the shoot, not the day of. Second-day hair is always more manageable.
Hands:-
-
Get a manicure and pedicure or do one yourself. Clear / Neutral nail polish works well with any outfit.
-
Exfoliate hands, feet and apply deep moisturizer
-
Clean Your Wedding Ring. If you prefer to do it yourself, you can use a small brush and toothpaste to give your ring some extra shine
Skin:-
-
Wax a few days before the shoot or if you prefer to shave, you can do this the night before. Remember to have your legs & underarms done.
-
Exfoliate and moisturize your whole body.
-
Avoid greasy, spicy, and salty foods which may cause breakouts
Clothes:-
-
Wear a button up shirt so you don’t mess up your hair taking when taking it off
-
Bring a variety of outfits that reflect who you are. Go through your wardrobe and pull out those special pieces that you may not wear on a daily basis. Bring a mix of Dark, Light & Colored.
-
Mix up the necklines for variety.
-
Bring Slim Fitting Clothes and avoid blousy tops that hide your shape.
To wrap it all up:-
-
Clean Moisturized Skin
-
5 Outfits
-
Lots of rest the night before
-
Come prepared to have fun!
